Mumbai, December 27, 2023: The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), India’s pioneering tennis ball T10 cricket tournament played inside a stadium, proudly announces its latest addition to the league's galaxy of eminent team owners. Renowned Actor, Suriya takes the crease as owner of the Chennai team, affirming ISPL’s commitment to promoting cricketing talent across the country.
ISPL has been the spotlight with its recent owner revelations that include eminent personalities like Amitabh Bachchan (Mumbai), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar), Hrithik Roshan (Bengaluru), and Ram Charan (Hyderabad).
Suriya, Actor, Producer and now Owner of ISPL’s Chennai team expressed his enthusiasm, "It's an honor to be a part of ISPL, a platform dedicated to showcasing cricketing talent across India. Chennai holds a special place in cricket history with the MA Chidambaram Stadium being the oldest venue in India in continuous use. In an innovative approach, ISPL introduces an inclusive policy, eliminating age restrictions, except for the mandatory inclusion of at least one U-19 player in the playing XI, aiming to unearth latent talent and provide a platform for emerging cricketers.

Scheduled to kick off from March 2nd to March 9th, 2024, in Mumbai, the inaugural edition of ISPL promises an enthralling display of cricketing brilliance, featuring six competitive teams – Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir).
