Jaipur, 10 November: The Election Commission of India on Thursday appointed Asian Games Gold Medalist Divyakriti Singh as ‘State Icon” of Rajasthan ahead of assembly elections this month and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The ECI appoints prominent personalities as ‘State Icons”“ to motivate voters, and counter apathy from the youth and urban dwellers who prefer staying at home instead of casting votes.
Divyakriti Singh recently created history at the Asian Games by winning the Gold Medal in Equestrian- Dressage , thereby becoming the First Indian Woman to ever Win a medal in Equestrian at the Asian Games
Equestrian is the only Gender neutral sport where men and women compete together.
Divyakriti Singh will motivate and appeal to the public to come out and vote and execrcise their franchise and abide by the fundamental duties in larger National Interest.
