Kochi, 26 October 2023: Commemorating World Stroke Day, Aster Medcity launched India's first-ever AI enabled tele stroke ambulance. This groundbreaking facility is implemented with the help of the vibrant team of Apothecary Medical Services, an independent firm providing entire critical care solutions to reach out to patients in pre-hospital setups. The facility aims to revolutionize medical services by leveraging 5G satellite technology and artificial reality. This state-of-the-art known by the acronym RRR (*Response *Rescue *Resuscitation) will enable swift and efficient critical healthcare needs in any emergency situation across hospitals in the region.
A-POC telemedicine is a new generation solution developed by the services enable Aster Medcity to provide care to people who die in Golden Hours (the first hour following traumatic injury being sustained by a casualty, during which there is the highest likelihood that prompt medical treatment will prevent death).
Various critical needs cater by the RRR ambulance includes real-time neurology support for stroke patients, immediate emergency medicine and cardio support for cardiac arrest, angina and arrhythmia and on the fly gynaecology support for bleeding/trauma, massive internal bleeding ensuring fetal and maternal well- being.
Establishing Stroke Units in various hospitals in the region, Aster Medcity will provide various services related to stroke treatments and will be conducting awareness classes on the same for both the hospitals and the public.
Various phases of the functioning of the telestroke ambulance such as providing immediate medical care in situations (onsite care), receiving treatment from nearby medical facilities (primary care), providing treatment in a vehicle until the patient safely reaches Aster Medcity with state-of-the-art facilities (transport care), and urgent treatment at the hospital (destination care) is designed in this multi-level process.
Being a part of this network, the doctor who manages the casualty or concerned department of any hospital in the region can provide immediate life-saving assistance to any patient who comes before him with stroke related issues. On transferring to Aster Medcity, the patient will be under the supervision of the Medical Dispatch System and the doctor in charge until they can safely reach at Aster Medcity.
All the biomedical equipment inside the ambulance is interconnected via Wi-Fi. These will immediately transmit the information to the control room and expert doctors will monitor the patient till they reach the hospital and if necessary, give instructions to the junior doctors in the ambulance. One can seek help from an expert doctor in real-time using smart glasses. The medical dispatch system, will begin its run-on October 29, World Stroke Day and is fully operational from this month onwards.
