Jaipur, 27 April. For the benefit of the Foreign Tour Operators (FTOs) who come to the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB), some events are created. The idea is to give them a first-hand experience of how a particular festival is celebrated in India. The concerned FTOs then sell the idea to the visitors from his country to come for the festival.
Post the Travel Bazaar, as many as 45 FTOs witnessed how Diwali is celebrated in India. Here to attend the GITB, they saw how the festival of lights is celebrated in its traditional gaiety and manner in India. They participated in the puja of Goddess Laxmi, shared sweetmeats, danced to the Rajasthani folk music and saw the fireworks. These FTOs were from France, Germany, Italy, UK and the Gulf.
The event was jointly organized by the leading destination management company, Le Passage To India (LPTI) and Diggi Palace. The Executive Director of LPTI, Mr. Khalid Khan said that every year after the travel bazaar, LPTI and Diggi Palace organise some festival for the FTOs to witness, so that they can market the festival accordingly in their respective countries. Later, the owner of Diggi Palace, Mr. Ram Pratap Singh also threw light on the Diwali celebration and gave the heritage inputs of the Diggi Palace. Also present on the occasion was the CEO of LPTI, Mr. Lalit Mehra.
It was a fun evening with foreign visitors thoroughly enjoying themselves.
