Hyderabad, May 31st, 2022:  IIID - Hyderabad Regional Chapter, is hosting the Fourth Edition of its prestigious flagship event “IIID Showcase Insider X 2022”, with the theme Telangana Art and Craft, from the 3rd to 5th June 2022 at Hitex Exhibition Centre. The Exhibition will be inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Somesh Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana, on June 3rd, 2022, at 11.00 am. Mr. Arvind Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, MAUD; will be the Chief Guest for unveiling the Arts & Crafts workshop and the works displayed by students, on June 3rd, 2022, at 7.30 pm; followed by a keynote address by the eminent Architect Naresh V Narasimhan, at Hotel Avasa. Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, IT and Industries, Government of Telangana; will be the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Ceremony on June 4th, 2022, at 7.30 pm. Some highlights of the exhibition are Bamboo Workshop; Arts & Crafts Pavilion; Best out of Waste competition; Student Works, Stall Design Competition etc.

Curated by Architects and Interior designers of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers, Hyderabad Chapter, the Expo has been specifically crafted for the interior design, architecture and construction industry. Aims to bring industry professionals and the common man on to a single platform. Spread over three days, the B2B Trade Expo will showcase emerging trends and contemporary design solutions.

Hon. Treasurer, IIID-HRC & Convener, IIID Showcase Insider X 2022, Ar. Rakesh Vasu stated that, “The IIID Hyderabad Chapter hosts the Design Showcase event bi-annually to bring to the Hyderabad fraternity the latest trends, thoughts and innovations in the Design industry. It is a comprehensive forum covering every vertical, offering every element, from smart devices to turnkey solutions. We would like to be at the forefront of defining the aspirations of the common man on the one hand and helping with design solutions for our government departments on the other. This time the showcase is based on a Theme of Arts & Crafts. While encouraging the Artisans, weavers and craftsman of the Art & Crafts industry, IIID-HRC has uniquely conducted educative workshops for the Designers, Students and Architects by the Artisans and craftsman. There would be a display of Art & Craft installations designed and crafted by Eminent Designers Supraja Rao, Kunal Shah, Soga, Priyanka Narula and Hoozinc. The theme has been curated by Ar. Yeshwant Ramamuruthy and executed by Ar. Nileesh and Ar. Kasi Raju. In order to take the vision forward, IIID HRC is organizing series of workshops and competitions for Architecture and Interior Design students across Hyderabad. The students from across 20 colleges participated in various workshops and competitions like Design Intervention, workshop on Best out of waste, and a Design competition. These works of students would be displayed in the showcase. The Best from waste workshop by the students and the design competition have been curated by Ar. Sridhar Reddy, Mentors are Ar. Aparna Bidarkar, Ar. Amita Raj and Ar. Sushmita subudhi. Towards bringing quality to urban living, a Bamboo workshop is being conducted for students, Curated by Ar. Sudhir Reddy under the tutelage of Ar. Sankalpa Professor at CEPT Ahmedabad, Er. Manu Narendran, Ar. Hlatun, Ar. Nawazish Kirmani, practicing Architects, Bamboo work specialist and Urban Designers. This workshop aims to develop innovative and creative urban utility products. We are aiming to revitalize and beautify Hyderabad by complementing the fast-growing urban infrastructure to make it a world class city. We have artisans doing workshops from Cheriyal, Pochampalli and Pembarthy, also leather puppetry by craftsmen from Anantapur. ”

The Chairperson of IIID HRC Ar. Manoj Wahi observed that “we have had a great mix of architects, interior designers, design related trade professionals, builders, project managers, MEP consultants, as well as industry specifiers from defense, government and the corporate sectors and serious homebuilders that will be visiting the Expo. Being at the cusp of development in the two sister States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, I think we are strategically placed to build a stronger industry presence through this medium. IIID is in the 50th year of establishment and the Hyderabad Chapter celebrated its 25th year last year. This Showcase is an attempt to reach out to all the Designers and is the biggest event in this category held in the combined Telugu states. Hyderabad is the fastest growing city with respect to commercial and real estate and the design fraternity has benefitted the most. This Showcase is at the right place at the right time and will serve as a catalyst for generating further growth in the interior designing fraternity. Around 2000 designers are expected to attend this Expo, and an overall footfall of 4000 vis expected during the three days. Through arts and craft theme we are trying to enhance the patronage and integrate our traditional arts and crafts into the new interior designing, thereby reduce the dependence imported design solutions. This will get the traditional arts and crafts back into the flavour and tap the huge potential in our designs. The thrust of the Expo is also technology as lot of design work is being driven by technology.    ”

Ar. B Nanda Kumar, Immediate past Chairman, IIID-HRC; said, “this event connects all our trade partners who provide the material which embellishes our projects with the designers. Through this we will reach out to every architect and interior designer in both the Telugu states and outside. Bamboo workshop is being hosted as part of this Expo, as bamboo is one of the sustainable materials used for both structural and decorative purposes. The Workshop helps the students to familiarize with the material and how it can be used. The outcome of the bamboo workshop will be displayed at the IIID pavilion during the three days. The other Workshop is on ‘Best out of Waste’, our industry generates lot of waste as a byproduct, we are trying to get the students to work with the waste that’s generated and create structures and installations with them. Also at the event students tend to meet designers, get to know new material, and figure out how to use them and make them productive. Covid brought a paradigm shift in the workspaces and how we live, you need a conducive space to work from home. These needs are bringing in new trends in designing too, introducing smart homes, smart workspaces, and sustainable spaces. The airconditioned boxes our workspaces used to be needed a paradigm change which can make the work or home spaces more livable with fresh air inputs, hepa filters to clean up and more.”

Ar. Navin Chalasani, Co Convenor of the Expo explained that “The exhibition will showcase the best and latest trends for interiors, with participation of 120+ Exhibitors and 500+ Brands from 50+ categories, spread across two halls, thus creating a single platform for the Trade Associates to interact with the best in Industry.”

Hon. Secretary of IIID- Hyderabad Chapter Ar. Praveen kumar informed that Outside support for the event is being extended by related organizations like the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA)-Telangana Chapter, the Crafts Council of Telangana, ISHRAE, ASHRAE, Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), ISOLA, IGBC and FSAI.

Ar. Pallavi Anchuri, Chairperson Elect, IIID-HRC; “Ar. Jabeen Zacharias, National President, IIID; Chapter Chairpersons of all the 32 IIID Chapters will attend the Expo. We have conducted outreach programs to generate awareness about this Expo among design fraternity and trade partners at Tirupati, Vizag, Vijayawada and Warangal.”

Mr. Jaleel Sabir, Vice-Chairman (Trade) & Treasurer-IIID Showcase Insider X 2022; said, “This Expo is unique, because it’s done by the Design fraternity including architects and interior designers for the trade fraternity. It’s the only show where there is a collaboration between the products and solutions the trade fraternity offers and the Designers, it shows that the two go hand in hand. This is the best opportunity for trade fraternity to showcase their products and each of the trade partners has benefitted tremendously from this event in the past. This platform provides an opportunity for Trade Partners to interact with the design fraternity and know what the Designers are looking for and create products to suit their needs. It is also an opportunity to educate design students on how to use the products, once they are familiar they become future customers for our products.   

Interior Designers, Architects, Industry Specifiers, Facility Managers, Builders, Professionals from the Semi Government and Government Sector are its patrons. Professionals from the Design Domain, High Net worth Individuals and the general public as end customers will be attending the B2B and B2C event.

Over 50 categories of the Interior Industry will be represented with 300+ brands, and 500+ products by 120+ exhibitors at the Expo, 3000+ Business visitors are expected to attend, besides 5000+ interested public who will benefit from this Expo.  The 3-day event is sponsored by a host of industry leaders including Platinum Partners KEUS Automation, Channel 6, Gold partners NFabustone, MPL Steel pipes, Saburi plywood, Meztli and Silver partners Panasonic, Tessera, Student workshop Partner Alekhya Homes, would be supporting the workshops and Design competitions for the students.

The timings of the Expo are on 3rd and 4th June (Fri & Sat) - Business Hours: 10 am – 5 pm. General: 5pm – 8 pm and on 5th June: 10 am- 8 pm for both Business visitors and General public. Ar.
