Jaipur, 24 May: As a part of the ongoing 'Junior Summer Programme' at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK), children are being taught the nuances of acting in the theatre workshop. During the workshop, Vilas Janve, a senior stage drama director and artiste from Rajasthan, taught the children the tricks of pantomime. Explaining the importance of the vowels of Hindi, he got the children to pronounce them so that their pronunciation can be corrected. Apart from this, he also explained the values of cleanliness to the children through poetry.
About 250 children are receiving training in this 30-day workshop. During this, an effort is being made to enhance the creativity of the children through various activities and exercises. Along with imparting the basic knowledge of acting, they are also being taught warm-up, voice modulation, and body exercises.
It is to be noted that the theatre workshop is being organized in JKK every day from 8 am to 12 noon. In which children of different ages have been divided into 10 groups. There are 2 instructors for each group, who are teaching the kids the nuances of theatre and acting in a fun manner. Similarly, the children are also being trained in Tabla, Kathak and Guitar in JKK’s 'Junior Summer Programme'.
