Jaipur, 20 May: A fusion musical performance, ‘Kaharwa’ was presented today at Madhyavarti of Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK). This fusion performance was based on Indian classical and Rajasthani folk music. It was conceived and directed by well-known Tabla artiste, Dr Vijay Siddha.
In this fusion performance, the artistes presented – ‘Des Kaharwa’, ‘Mand Kaharwa’, Raag Yaman as well as ‘Sufi Kaharwa’ based on the famous composition, ‘Chhap Tilak’. They also performed ‘Sufi Kalam’ of Bulle Shah, ‘Jog Kaharwa’ based on Raag Jog, the Sufi composition ‘Tu Karim Kartar Jagat Ko’ and folk songs in Raga Bhopali. The audience was also enchanted by the special performance of ‘Gorband’. Apart from this, Sabrang Kaharwa, Shivranjani Kaharwa, etc. were also presented.
Dr Vijay Siddha was accompanied by famous classical singer, Dr Vijendra Gautam; folk music singer, Ustad Bundu Khan Langa; sitar player, Pandit Hari Sharan Bhatt, and Morchang and Bhapang player, Rais Khan. Similarly, Sonu Khan Langa was on Khadtal, Barkat Khan on Dholak, Ronit Sejwani on drums, Arjun Singh on piano, and Kuldeep Sharma on guitar.
