Jaipur, 18 May: A fusion musical performance, ‘Kaharwa’ will be presented on Friday, 20 May at 7 pm at Madhyavarti of Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK). This fusion performance will be based on Indian classical and Rajasthani folk music. It has been conceived and directed by well-known tabla artiste, Dr Vijay Siddha. Entry to the programme will be free.
Dr Siddha believes that the ‘Kaharwa Taal’ was the first to originate in the world. Even in today's era, ‘Kaharwa Taal’ is the most popular in world music. Its playful nature is a force to be reckoned with. Keeping this approach in mind, through Kaharwa Fusion, a successful attempt has been made to simplify classical music and make it popular for the masses.
Dr Vijay Siddha will be accompanied by famous classical singer, Dr Vijendra Gautam; folk music singer, Ustad Bundu Khan Langa; sitar player, Pandit Hari Sharan Bhatt, and Morchang and Bhapang player, Rais Khan. Similarly, Sonu Khan Langa will be on Khadtal, Barkat Khan on Dholak, Ronit Sejwani on drums, Arjun Singh on piano, and Kuldeep Sharma on guitar.
