Thiruvananthapuram: May 5, 2022; In a major green initiative, Technopark now becomes the first among IT parks to have a Miyawaki forest. Spread over 20 cents, the forest cover holds more than 1,300 trees of 210 species. The initiative has been designed to recreate the bio-habitat that prevailed before Technopark was established.
Shashi Tharoor, MP, inaugurated the forest that has been structured by Technopark Rotary Club in association with Kerala State IT Parks and various companies in the park.
Former Minister Kadaampally Surendran, MLA, Kerala State IT Parks CEO John M Thomas, Technopark Rotary Club President Harish Mohan, Secretary Manu Madhavan and Rotary District Governor K Srinivasan along with club members and representatives of various companies were present on the occasion.
The Miyawaki forest was created in Technopark campus under the 'My Village Scheme' part of the Rotary District project, and also on the occasion of the 75th Independence anniversary Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
