Jaipur, 19 April: As part of the ongoing Bonjour India festival, an exciting evening of jazz concert with the progressive jazz pianist, Alexandre Herer and his band will be organised on 24 April at 7 pm at Madhyavarti in Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK). The concert will present Herer’s work, ‘Nunataq’. It is being organised as an initiative by the Embassy of France, Institut Français en Inde and the Alliance Française Network. The programme is being held in collaboration with JKK. Entry to the programme is free.
‘Onze Heures Onze’, a collective of French musicians, have brought together the jazz trio, who are back with their new project which is simultaneously introspective and open and nourished by their many experiences. For this project entitled ‘Nunataq’, Alexandre Herer will offer music that is open, airy and cold in its cadence, partly inspired by the vast iced stretches (such as the landscape of Greenland), places that bear witness to a past climate that is now under threat because of humanity.
It will be a thrilling journey travelling into the landscapes and mindscapes of a changing world. The performance will present Alexandre Herer on the keyboard, Gael Petrina on bass, and Pierre Mangeard on drums. The French Jazz trio will be seen jamming with Rajasthani musicians, Siraj Khan Kawa on tabla & vocals and Meena Sapera who will join the band in a never-seen-before choreography of song and dance.
This performance is coming to India in collaboration with Gatecrash and French Institute in India for the Bonjour India Festival.
