March 31st, 2022: Hindustan Power CSR Department, dedicated to community health, organized voluntary blood donation camps in collaboration with Anuppur and Shahdol District Blood Banks as part of efforts to ensure availability of blood in the area. Company employees and their family members donated blood in this blood donation camp organized at the hospital located in the company premises. A total of 87 units of blood were collected in the camp.
Before organizing the camp, awareness sessions were organized to clear the misconceptions related to blood donation and to make them aware about the importance and benefits of blood donation. The company's Plant Head and COO Basanta Kumar Mishra encouraged the blood donors by attending the camp. He said, "Human life is valuable. Blood is the basis of life and nothing is a greater donation. Such an initiative is an inspiring act towards saving lives." Shubhashish Chakraborty of CSR department played the role of coordinator in organizing the camp.
RK Khatana, head of the company's human resource department, also inspired people for this humanitarian work by donating blood. He also took stock of the facilities of the camp. CSR officer Satyam Salil expressed his gratitude towards the blood donors.
It is worth mentioning that the CSR department of Hindustan Power has been making invaluable contribution in ensuring the availability of blood in the region by organizing blood donation camps for the last several years.
