Jaipur, March: Day 7 of the Rang Rajasthan festival witnessed the staging of two more plays at Jawahar Kala Kendra on Saturday. This festival is organised by the Department of Art, Culture and Archeology and Rang Mastane Sanstha of Jaipur in collaboration with Jawahar Kala Kendra. At 3 pm, the play "Vinoba Smaran" directed by theater artist Rajendra Panchal was staged at JKK's Krishnayan. This play was one such experiment by the actors in which they have tried to convey to the audience as much experience as they have gained from the two and a half year search on Vinoba Bhave.
After this, at 4.30 pm, there was a conversation session Rang Chaupal in Krishnayan, whose guests were Ruchi Bhargava, Priyadarshini Mishra, Preeti Dubey. The mediator of the Chaupal was Mudita Choudhary who spoke to the speakers on the topic "Women Director of Rajasthan”. Priyadarshini ji told that she wanted to go to defence but as soon as she took drama subject in college, she became an intoxicant to theatre. Since then she has been doing theater continuously. Preeti Dubey said that becoming a director is not easy. Girls are often underestimated in every field. But she can also do everything if she prepares herself for that work. Ruchi Bhargava told that it does not take time for a woman to become Durga when she needs it.
At 6 pm, the play Hasya Choodamani was staged at the Rangayan stage of Jawahar Kala Kendra which was composed by Mahamatya Vatsaraja in the 11th century. Hasya Chudamani is based on the epitome of laughter and harsh satire on a superstitious business which is translated in Bundeli language by Shivani Singh. The play is directed by Saurabh Anant. Playwrights and all the actors came to the festival from Bhopal to stage. The audience burst into laughter after watching this performance full of songs and music.
After this, an evening full of classical music was organised at the madhyavarti of Jawahar Kala Kendra from 7.30 pm. Pandit Santosh Joshi from Bikaner and his co-stars performed. Santosh Joshi received tabla training from his elder brother Parmanand Joshi and also started playing lap (Hawaiian) guitar under the guidance of GD Jhanwar. He is also a B-high grade artist of All India Radio. Some of his more popular ragas include Shuddh Sarang, Kalashree, Madhuvanti, Kirwani, Malkauns, Shankara, Patdeep.
Tomorrow is the last day of Rang Rajasthan Festival in which 3 plays and 1 story reading will be staged. Apart from this “Rang Choupal” interaction session will also be there. The play Hum Bharat Ke Log directed by theater artist Abhishek Goswami will be staged at Krishnayan Auditorium, JKK at 12 noon. After that the play Bheli Batan directed by Anil Marwari will be staged at 2 pm in Krishnayan itself and story reading will be staged at 4 pm. At 5 o'clock, Rang Chaupal interaction session will also be organised in Krishnayan, and the topic of discussion will be “Achievements from Art Festivals of Rajasthan” which will include Mrs. Hema Gera, Gopal Acharya, Sudesh Vyas, S. P. Ranga and Abhishek Mudgal. At the end at 6 o'clock in JKK Rangayan, the play Banswara Company directed by director Niresh Kumar from Mumbai will be staged.
