Sunny days for talent in Kochi states TeamLease Employment Outlook Report (Jan- March 2022)

Kochi, 10th March  2022: TeamLease Services, India’s leading human resource company / India’ leading people supply Chain Company today launched the latest edition of its comprehensive hiring outlook report called  ‘Employment Outlook Report’ for the period January- March 2022. According to the report, if harsh restrictions are not imposed on business operations more than 19% of the respondents from the city are keen on hiring talent in the current quarter.

 

Dwelling deep as per the research, out of the 21 sectors reviewed all the sectors have exhibited positive intent to hire. However, Agriculture & Agrochemicals (24% of the employers), Information Technology (20% of the employers), Logistics (19% of the employers), Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals (17% of the employers), E-commerce & Technology Start-ups (16% of the employers), and Manufacturing, Engineering and Infrastructure (15% of the employers) are the key sectors who are driving the intent to hire in Kochi. From a profile point of view, Supply chain Analyst, Manufacturing Engineer, Campus Manager, Content Writer, and Inventory Control Manager are the top roles which are the most sought after in the current quarter in the city.

 

Commenting on the findings, Ms. Rituparna Chakraborty, Co-Founder & Executive Vice President, TeamLease Services, said, “Though IT and technology-linked firms are dominating the job creation eco-system in the city, other sectors are not that far behind. In fact, out of the 21 sectors reviewed nearly 3 sectors have indicated a growth rate of more than 6% compared to the previous quarter – indicating the employment scenario is on recovery mode across sectors in the city.”

 

A comprehensive report covering the intent to hire across hierarchies as per the report, 36% Entry Level and 39% Junior Level are the most sought after job level in the city. More than 14% of the employers (8 % growth over previous quarter) are looking to hire Entry and junior level talent.

 

The TeamLease Employment Outlook Report is a forward looking tool for human resource professionals, policy and decision makers and reflecting hiring sentiment across 14 cities and 21 sectors in India. The survey covers 829 small, medium and large companies across the 21 sectors across India. The coverage is spread across 4 geographical areas [Metros, Tier-1, Tier-2/3 and Rural], 4 hierarchical levels [Entry, Junior, Mid and Senior Levels] and 7 functional areas [Sales, Marketing, Information Technology, Engineering, Office Services, Human Resources, Blue Collar].

 

 

Key findings of the survey from a national perspective

 

Trend in India- A stable, although slightly lower GDP forecast (8.5%) for 2022 has spread considerable optimism across sectors. The increased hiring intent comes on the back of a k-shaped recovery (different sectors recovering at significantly different rates) and the formal economy delivering on increased demand An unprecedented churn in the technology sector (particularly in the IT and Knowledge Services sector, and to some extent in Ecommerce & Technology Start-ups) even while global demand for technology services from India surges sends hiring intent soaring for these sectors. Continued health of high frequency indicators, and the credit growth turning positive in case of large businesses rising exports also contribute to the growth in overall hiring intent.
