17TH EDITION OF THE JAIPUR JEWELLERY SHOW ENDS WITH OVER 20,000 VISITORS OVER 4 DAYS

Jaipur: The 17th edition of the 4-day Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) concluded today. The 2,00,000 sq. m show arena at JECC Jaipur meticulously hosted a whopping 20,000 show visitors and traders over the past 4 days.

At the JJS Closing Ceremony today, the Chief Guest was Mr. Bhanwar Singh Bhati, Minister of State for Power,Government of Rajasthan and Mr. Rafeek Khan, MLA was the Guest of Honour.  

On the occasion, Mr. Bhanwar Singh Bhati reiterated that Jaipur is renowned for the jewellery and gems trade. It provides employment to lakhs of people. In response to Mr. Rafeek Khan’s appeal to re-classify the prevailing power rates in order to bring some commercial relief to the small manufacturers in the trade, the Minister assured that he would look into the power related problems of the jewellery manufacturing units.

Mr. Khan also complimented the organizers for making JJS a world-class event where global visitors come and attend as well as network.

At the event, Chairman of the JJS, Mr. Vimal Chand Surana said that the 17th JJS has been the best show in terms of business as well as arrangements. He thanked all the exhibitors, vendors and visitors.

The Honorary Secretary of the JJS, Mr. Rajiv Jain announced that the 18th edition of the Jaipur Jewellery Show is scheduled to be held from December 23-26, 2022.

Spokesperson, JJS, Mr. Ajay Kala moderated the event and also announced the award for the best display at the JJDF. The award was bagged by Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery.

The vendors associated with the event were given a commendation certificate for their performance. Many of them are associated with the show right from the inception in 2003.

Top vendors displayed allied products and jewellery manufacturing machinery

Along with gemstones and jewellery, the JJS had a dedicated section for wholesale vendors selling products related to storage and display of jewellery like, necklace stands, trays, boxes, packaging material, gift boxes, etc. Several stalls also displayed materials like alloys and casting powder, which fall under the category of Jewellery Making Consumable Items.

There were also vendors of top jewellery manufacturing machinery who represented over 22 global brands. Their stalls displayed and demonstrated specific state-of-the-art machineries for all the processes involved in jewellery manufacturing from CAM (computer aided manufacturing) to printing, polishing and plating.  

Gemology & Jewellery Design Institutes conducted seminars and counseling sessions

Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) which is an educational training project of Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) conducted seminars on developments in jewellery designing technology and manufacturing processes as well as career opportunities in gemology and jewellery exports.

Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India, a government of India initiative for skill development in this sector, had also set up their stall at JJS where they provided information about their benefit schemes, soon to be launched digital courses and consulting services.

It is to be recalled that at the 17th edition of JJS there were 800 booths showcasing jewellery, gemstones, allied and machinery, costumes etc.
