The 2021 ‘Carrera for Dubai’ Special & Limited Edition sunglasses are a celebration of the Emirate, pairing timeless design with bold vision. The classic designs retain their signature look and feel, with a refreshed aesthetic, just in time for the 50th UAE National Day on December 2nd.
These editions of eyewear were unveiled this month in Dubai at a Carrera Mega Event, with the two striking versions made available to the public. The black and white options fuse a glistening gold trim and a classic monochrome base, with the enduring ‘Carrera C’ emblazoned on the bridge – a signature feature for the iconic eyewear maker.
Carrera and Dubai share some common DNA. Some cities need umbrellas and raincoats, Dubai needs sunglasses, and the timeless Carrera look has been endorsed by Emiratis and UAE residents for generations.
Taking place at Vida Creek Harbour, the exclusive showcase featured an array of VIP guests, including collectors and representatives from Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, the Dubai Media Office, Dubai Culture, and other officials. Mr. Angelo Trocchia, Safilo Group Global CEO, along with key partners from Middle East, India and South Africa were in attendance.
In collaboration with Dubai, the new Carrera releases sport the renowned DUBAI logo on both the left lens and the temples of the Special & Limited Editions eyewear. The unique looks are synonymous with Emirati style, which is itself expression of success and innovation.
