Bengaluru: Legends Cricket League, a professional cricket league for retired cricketers, announced that Ravi Shastrihas joined as Commissioner of the League.
Ravi Shastri completed his term with the Indian Cricket Team as Chief Coach and he is starting a new innings with Legends League Cricket (LLC). The global league where former cricketers, legends of the game, will be playing competitive cricket is looking at emerging as a professional league, where the Legends can relive old rivalries on the field. Ravi, with his successful career as an all-rounder cricketer and then a thrivingcoach of Team India, brings in immense value to the League.
The first season is scheduled to be held in January 2022 in the Gulf.

Ravi Shastri completed his tenure as the Head Coach of Indian Team on November 15, 2021. He also had a couple of stints as the Team Director of the Indian side. Ravi leaves behind him a legacy of his own and formidable track record. During his tenure, India has been number 1 in Test Cricket for five years, won against Australia twice and won in England beating them at their own backyards. His elaborate career also witnessed winning many matches,the most famous being the Benson & Hedges World Series in 1985 down south in Australia where he became the man of the series – Champion of Champions.
The first season of LLC is scheduled to be held in January 2022 in the Gulf. The League will have former cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, among other cricket nations divided into 3 Teams representing India, Asia and Rest of the World.
Andrew Leipus who had been associated with Team India and also National Cricket Academy has already joined as the Director Sports Science to oversee the fitness of all the players joining the League. With Ravi Shastri joining the Legends League Cricket as its Commissioner, the league will get more exciting and promising. No doubt the ardent cricket fanatics are up for a treat reliving the old cricketing rivalries on the field once more.
