Young minds share innovative solutions at Empower Startup Contest

New Delhi : In line with Pre IIGF event, The Empower Startup Contest was held for children and young adults. It was centered around the theme ‘Don’t prepare for the world. Design it.” The concept of the competition involved visualizing what the world would be like in eight to ten years, along with its problems and what opportunities would be present to solve these problems.

 

Winners were announced under four categories:-

First prize - Mr Adhi Daiv for ‘Greening deserts with only 1 litre of water’

Second prize - Mr Ishaan Kaila and Ms Gurpreet Kaur for ‘Bringing clean humour to everyone’

Third prize - Mr Yash Manuja under ‘Safely connect and find reusable supplies’

Special prize - Mr Ishaan Kaila for ‘The best idea in Gov Tech’

 

An initiative of India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF), the competition was mentored by Atal Incubation Centre, Shiv Nadar University, and IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. It was moderated by Nidhi Arora, Founder and Catalyst, The Children’s Post of India in the presence of Mr. Ajay Data, Co-Chair, ICT, and Mobile Manufacturing Committee & CEO and founder Data Xgen Technologies Pvt Ltd and Ms. Sarika Gulyani, Director, FICCI.

 

Children from different parts of the country presented their innovative startup ideas that directly addressed the problems of the world and how they plan on providing solutions for the same. The startup ideas were evaluated by a distinguished jury of professionals, all experts in their respective domains who also gave the children feedback on their presentation, and engaged them in answering questions related to their presentation. The competition was instrumental in motivating the youth to explore future opportunities to design their career paths.

 

Speaking on the sideline of the webinar, Mr Ajay Data, Co-Chair, ICT and founder Data Xgen Technologies Pvt Ltd said ‘Children are the backbone of our society and future of the country. Through such innovative initiatives under pre-iigf, we’re trying to empower them to share solutions and present startup ideas directly to top leaders. This will make India future ready with desired knowledge and solutions.

 

Ms. Nidhi Arora, Founder and Catalyst, The Children’s Post of India concluded the competition by thanking the mentors, the editorial team of The Children’s Post of India, parents, teachers and students who were all involved in making this competition possible and providing a platform for the youth to showcase their innovative ideas.
