Jaipur: The passengers travelling by Flight No SG 3764 of SpiceJet from Amritsar to Jaipur on Friday (27 August) had a very unpleasant experience. The flight which was supposed to take off at 9.20 pm from Amritsar to Jaipur took off around 11.20 pm from Amritsar. The boarding time was 8.50 pm and the passengers had been told that the boarding gate closes 20-25 minutes prior to departure.
All the Jaipur bound passengers had reached on time and after the security check were waiting for the flight information. However, even when the time was 9.20 pm (the official take off time) there was no official of SpiceJet to inform why the delay was happening. What was surprising was that the flight information screen at the airport first kept showing that the flight was on time and later that the boarding had begun. All this while the plane had not even landed at Amritsar from Delhi. It is this flight which goes to Jaipur.
All the passengers were running here and there to get basic information of the status. It was only around 10.20 pm that a SpiceJet official came on the scene. By that time the irate passengers were demanding to know what was happening. In a little while, two other officials of SpiceJet also joined but no one was willing to tell the exact status of the flight. At 10.40 pm the passengers created a lot of hue and cry at the SpiceJet counter near Gate 2A. What was even more disappointing was the fact that no one from the airlines was enquiring of the basic need of the passengers. Even the AC at the airport was not functioning and in the Gents toilet there was only one among the four taps functioning. On the demand of the passengers, the Spicejet official also rang up the Airport Authority on the non-functioning of the AC.
