Sikka Café, the homegrown, multi-location restaurant concept serving Emirati, Arabic, Indian and Persian cuisine, is celebrating Holi with the launch of a mouthwatering thali offering, serving a truly authentic experience of colour and flavour.
The traditional dining experience, which will become a permanent feature on Sikka Café’s menu, includes set portions of starters, mains and desserts, all served in individual bowls on one sharing plate.
With a diverse collection of dishes that include, the thali is available at Sikka Café’s branches in City Walk, La Mer and Al Khawaneej from 28th March onwards.
The exciting line up of starters include chana chat (chickpeas with potato, onion and chilli tossed with a sweet and tangy sauce), aloo samosa (spiced potato stuffed in a fried pastry), pakoda (Indian spiced onion fritter, with a green mint chutney) and kachumbar salad (Chopped cucumber, onion, chilli & tomato tossed in spiced dressing).
Mains comprise vegetable jalfrezi (mix vegetable stewed with tangy onion and tomato based rich gravy), biryani rice (Indian biriyani flavoured rice), dal tadka (slow cooked chana dal with Indian spices, tempered with chilli oil), and butter chicken (succulent pieces of chicken marinated in tandoori spice stewed in rich cashew and tomato-based gravy). All served with rice and freshly cooked chapatis.
Finish the epic dinner on a sweet note with the Indian favourite dessert gulab jamuns, (fried milky dough balls soaked in sugar syrup).
If nine dishes in one sitting sounds like thirsty work, take advantage of unlimited karak chai for two which runs alongside the thali offering.
Drawing on its multi-cuisine roots and demonstrating its commitment to Indian cuisine, Sikka Café is also launching a series of brand-new Indian breakfast dishes to sit alongside its existing Emirati plates. Freshly launched dishes include idli sambar (a soft and fluffy steamed cake served with spicy sambar stew), uttapam (savoury pancakes with chopped tomatoes, onions and coriander, served with spicy sambar stew), vada sambar (crispy fried rice and lentil donuts, served with spicy sambar stew), and paratha bhaji (flaky paratha served with Indian spiced potatoes and mixed pickle). All dishes are available across all Sikka Café locations until 1pm daily.
