Jaipur, 28 January: The 4th edition of the CII-Vedanta Hindustan Zinc Ltd Invitation Golf Cup was held today at the Rambagh Golf Club. As many as 100 people participated in the tournament. Some women players also took part in the game. India's leading professional women golfer, Ridhima Dilawari also participated in the tournament.
The awards were given away to the winners in 26 categories. Best CII Golfer Trophy was awarded to Vibhore Agarwal. Best Junior Golfer in Under 16 Category - Haridaan Saraogi; Best veteran Golfer - Dinesh Talwar. In the Handicap Category (0 -12), Col Shamsher Singh was the winner and Sidharth Sharma was the runner up. In Handicap Category (13-17), Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth was the winner and Major Gen Praveen Bakshi was the runner up. In the Handicap Category (18-24), Rajendra Jhakar was the winner and Tarun Agarwal was the runner up.
The award for the ‘Closest to the pin’ went to Dr Anita Bhandari, ‘Straightest Drive’ to Vikas Bajoria, ‘Longest Drive’ to Deep Karan Singh and ‘Beat the Pro’ to Ankit Choudhary.
Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command and Mr Amitabha, General Manager – North Western Railways gave away the trophies to the winners.
Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council, Mr Abhinav Banthia informed that people from diverse backgrounds such as bureaucrats, sports persons, industry members, judges etc. participated in the tournament. He further said that this Cup is an initiative to bring together sports and corporations and to push for a healthier and fit lifestyle and at the same time promote entry of new and junior golfers in the game.
Vice Chairman, CII Rajasthan & Executive Director, Vedanta Ltd and CEO, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Mr Arun Misra highlighted that over the past three editions, the CII Rajasthan Corporate Golf Tournament has grown to become a much-awaited Corporate Sports event for the players and corporates alike. Around 120 senior representatives from prominent corporates from Rajasthan & NCR have been participating in the last three editions.
