Jaipur, December 9, 2023. The first convocation of the online degree programme under the Directorate of Online Education of Manipal University Jaipur, was successfully organised. A total of 969 students from the 2022–2023 batch were awarded degrees in this ceremony. On this occasion, Dr. Nalin Mehta, Managing Editor of Moneycontrol, and Ambarish Sinha, CEO of Unext Learning Pvt. Ltd., attended as the chief guests. In the first convocation ceremony, a total of 969 students from MBA and MCA subjects received their degrees from the hands of the Chief Guest.
The formal beginning of the programme started with the conduct of academic post, in which the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, along with the President of Manipal University Jaipur, Prof. Gopal Krishna Prabhu, Pro-President Prof. Jawahar Mal Jangir, Registrar Prof. Neetu Bhatnagar, Director of Online Education Directorate Dr. Mallikarjun Gaddapa, Controller of Examinations Dasari Nagaraju, and Deputy Controller of Examinations Dr. Pooja Sharma, all programme and course coordinators were included.
In this programme, which started with the national anthem, the university's national anthem was also sung. After this, the President of the University, Prof. Prabhu, welcomed the chief guest, and Pro-President Prof. Jangir welcomed the guest of honour by giving him a bouquet. In his address, Prof. Prabhu highlighted the significant achievements made by the university over the years and said that online degree programmes provide a medium to acquire expertise in the field of higher education, which enhances suitability for careers in various fields. Along with this, he heartily congratulated the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, all the respected academicians, academic council members, students, and their parents present in the ceremony, and said that the Directorate of Online Education of MUJ is achieving new heights in the field of online education for society and the nation. He is determined to make his invaluable contribution to the construction. The chief guest, Dr. Mehta, in the first convocation of the online degree programme, heartily congratulated all the students for the degrees they received due to their hard work and dedication. He said that by saving time and space, online degree programmes provide students with the freedom to choose the time and place as per their convenience, thus allowing them to balance their other work. Guest of Honour Sinha said that online degree programmes provide a medium to gain expertise in the field of higher education, which increases suitability for careers in various fields. Pro-President Prof. Jangir, in his welcome speech, welcomed the chief guest and guest of honour, as well as all the students, parents, and dignitaries present at the event. With this he said, online degree programmes are providing a new approach in the field of education in India, which can help prepare students with the latest technological and educational developments. Presenting the graduates, Dr. Gaddapa, Director, Directorate of Online Education, said that online education is in line with education in the digital age, allowing students to freely acquaint themselves with the latest technology and digital skills. In the end, Dr. Neetu Bhatnagar, Registrar of Manipal University, Jaipur, expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, other honoured guests, parents, teachers, university management, all the employees, and all the students awarded with degrees who participated in the programme, and wished them a bright future. A live telecast of this programme was also done on the official website of the university so that students and parents who could not attend the function due to some reasons could watch the programme.
