Dr. Venkatesh appointed Dean of School of Management and Entrepreneurship at Shiv Nadar University

Greater Noida, December 07, 2023: Shiv Nadar University, India's youngest Institution of Eminence (IoE), has elevated Dr. Sundaravaradhan Venkatesh to Dean, School of Management and Entrepreneurship, effective November 20, 2023. Dr. Venkatesh will report to Dr. Ananya Mukherjee, Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University. He succeeds Dr. Bibek Bannerjee, who served as the Dean of the School of Management and Entrepreneurship for three years.

Dr. Venkatesh brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role, having worked extensively in the audit and manufacturing industries. He has also been associated with academia, having lectured at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (associated for eight years) and the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand (18 years). He has been a visiting faculty in leading institutions of higher learning in France, India, Vietnam, Nepal, and Thailand.

Throughout his career, Dr. Venkatesh has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in education, a passion for fostering innovation, and a dedication to promoting entrepreneurship. He is a distinguished scholar with a proven track record and has significantly contributed to management education, entrepreneurship, and accounting through a series of impactful research endeavours and scholarly activities. He has published over 25 articles in renowned academic journals, addressing critical issues in financial analysis, corporate finance, strategic management and controls, and leadership. 

Dr. Venkatesh is internationally experienced in the design and delivery of executive and management development programs and has been a mentor to senior managers in the corporate world. He has designed, marketed, and delivered high-impact executive development programs for over two decades. His areas of research interest include using finance and accounting theories and related concepts in managerial and personal decision-making in emerging markets, especially in non-formal settings, using survey and case study methods.

Taking over as the Dean, Dr. Venkatesh said, "I am honoured to be a part of Shiv Nadar University and lead the School of Management and Entrepreneurship. I am excited to work with the talented faculty, staff, and students to enhance the school's reputation and contribute to its ongoing success." 

Dr. Venkatesh earned his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is also a certified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Dr. Venkatesh has also completed a Bachelor of Law from the University of Kolkata and a Bachelor of Science from the Institute of Directors, Thailand.

Dr. Venkatesh brings an exceptional record of achievements, including the Faculty of the Year Award for outstanding performance in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, awarded by Vietnam National University- Ho Chi Minh City. In 1999, he was top-listed for excellent performance in teaching the PGP course on Management Accounting at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
