The Arogya Fair marquee, which houses a wealth of details about indigenous medicines available in the country, is part of the December 1-5 GAF that was inaugurated by Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankar on Friday. “We have a variety of indigenous wellness systems, about which the visitor will get a clear and concise idea,” according to Dr Dhanaraj Kumar Rana, nodal officer with the Ministry of Ayush.
The pavilion functions under the leadership of the ICMR-equivalent National Research Council for Ayurveda, Central Council for Research in Homeopathy, National Institute of Homeopathy (Kolkata), Central Council for Research in Unani, Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy and the Central Council for Research in Siddha.
By displaying lucid notes, along with videos, charts and models, the informative content at the pavilion is wooing visitors. Among them, students of medicine especially, are rating high the knowledge value of the tips on ideal everyday life, health habits and mental well-being.
Another speciality of the Ayush Pavilion is its exhibition of rare books based on comprehensive research and PhD theses on new-age studies in indigenous medicines. “These works are of public interest as much as they are for the academic circles,” Dr Rana points out.
The five-day conclave is being organised by the Ayush Ministry, Kerala government and various Ayurvedic establishments under the aegis of the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action. The GAF, with delegates from 70 countries, concludes on Tuesday.
