Jaipur, 12 July: The 3rd edition of the Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart will be from 14 July to 16 July. On 14 July evening, the foreign tour operators, travel agents and visiting delegates will be invited for Amber Fort experience. They will also get an opportunity to see the sound and light show at Amber. On next day, 15 July, the RDTM will be officially inaugurated at 10 am by the Minister of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Vishvendra Singh and Principal Secretary Tourism, Ms. Gayatri Rathore.
Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), President, Mr. Apurv Kumar; FHTR, President Honour, Mr. Bhim Singh; Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA), President, Mr. Randhir Vikram Singh Mandawa; FHTR, Senior Vice President and Hotel and Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR), President, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Chandela and Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO), President, Mr. Mahendra Singh Rathore will also be present. Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart is being jointly organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan and the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR).
The pre-structured meetings and exhibition will be held on 15 and 16 July at Rajasthan International Centre (RIC). Around 9,000 B2B structured meetings will be held between buyers and sellers. More than 250 domestic tour operators from across the country will network with more than 250 exhibitors from Rajasthan who will showcase the prowess and potential of their 600 tourism products like hotels, motels, resorts, eateries, heritage properties, amusement parks, etc. There will also be several knowledge sharing sessions and panel discussions on significant topics related to tourism, heritage, sustainability, among others in which industry experts will share their insights.
Rajasthan has enormous potential for achieving manifold growth in the tourism sector. An event like RDTM aims to give a boost to the travel market of Rajasthan. It will serve as a common platform for interaction and business generation for the associated travel partners. Such concerted joint efforts by the public and private stakeholders will enable tourism promotion which is crucial in the current times as international tourism is yet to come to the pre-covid levels.
The initiatives and policies of the Tourism Department, such as Film Tourism Promotion Policy, Rural Tourism Policy also plays an active role in supporting and participating in a wide range of platforms aimed at promoting tourism in Rajasthan. The ‘industry’ status given to the tourism and hospitality sector also reflects the State’s robust focus towards tourism.
The theme this year is ‘Sustainable Tourism’ which is becoming increasingly important as more people around the world seek to explore popular destinations. With a growing number of tourists visiting these places every year, there is a risk of natural resources being depleted and local communities being negatively impacted. To preserve the natural beauty and cultural heritage of tourist destinations for future generations, it is essential that all stakeholders in the tourism industry work together to promote sustainable practices.
This includes minimizing the environmental impact of tourism, supporting local economies, and ensuring that the local community benefits from the presence of tourists. Adopting sustainable tourism practices can help to protect our planet's natural resources and ensure that these popular destinations remain enjoyable and sustainable for years to come. This year RDTM will also be collaborating with the Department of Environment, Government of Rajasthan.
