Potential for cooperation in space technology; Australian delegates visit Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram, 08 May 2023: A team from the South Australian University Incubation Center visited Thiruvananthapuram to discuss the research and business collaboration opportunities in the fields of Information Technology and Space Technology.

 

The team discussed the opportunities in Kerala with CEO Technopark Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd), CEO Startup mission Mr Anoop Ambika, CEO, KSPACE CEO Mr G Levin and other senior officials. A fruitful interaction with  senior representatives from  VSSC/Brahmos was also arranged. The great success story of IT Parks and business opportunities were explained by CEO Technopark. The great stride in the Kerala Start up eco-system, which has won international recognition, was explained by KSUM Head Innovation & Business Development Mr Ashok Kurian Panjikaran. The new initiative of Government of Kerala in promoting industries in Space technology sector and availability of a great resource pool within Thiruvananthapuram was brought out by CEO KSPACE.

 

Representatives of  GTech and the Chamber of Aerospace Industries(CAI) held detailed discussion on the possible areas of collaboration in IT and aerospace industries. The delegation visited the production units of M/s Vinvish Technologies and M/s Ananth Technologies in KINFRA apparel park at Menamkulam.

 

The team also visited Digital University(DUK), Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology(IIST), and National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST). The team discussed the possibilities of cooperation in research and development activities. The Australian team  included the CEOs of seven startups and university representatives

 

The team held concluding meetings with Secretary, E&ITD, Dr Rathan Kelkar and the Minister for Industries, Shri P Rajeev. The minister explained about the new industrial policy of the state and welcomed investments in the state from Australian entrepreneurs.
