Jaipur, 6 May. The Department of Arts at Manipal University Jaipur organized the ‘Jashn-e-Youth’ programme recently. Students showcased their talents in the event. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Dean of the Department, Prof. Komal Audichya, Head, HR, Mr. M.S. Sridhar, and all the department heads.
During the inauguration, Prof. Audichya emphasized on the power of books as our ultimate mentors, elaborating that those who embrace the joy of reading are destined to become exceptional leaders. Reading good books, setting goals, and working hard will lead to success. Books not only provide knowledge but also bring mental peace. She advised students to keep their mobile phones away for a few hours every day and devote time to books, which will make their lives better. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Arun Kumar Poonia, the organizer of the event.
Following this, various activities were organized. The first program, ‘Izhaar,’ highlighted the ups and downs of life through poetry. On this occasion, students presented dance and singing performances. A panel discussion on the films of Harry Potter was also conducted. Later, a program focused on book reviews shifted the attention towards contemplation. The Bollywood themed fashion show enthralled the audience. Through the web series ‘Mirzapur’, a serious discussion on censorship on OTT platforms was held.
