Kochi: Uttarakhand native Arjun Pradhan won the first Federal Bank Kochi Marathon, organized by CleoSportz here on Monday. 41 year old Armyman Arjun finished the run in 02:32:50 hrs. Vipul Kumar finished second in 02:36:07 hrs and Vinoth Kumar S came third in 02:40:42 hrs. In the women's category, Jyoti Shankar Rao Gawate from Maharashtra lifted the title by finishing in 03:17:31 hrs. Ashvini Madan Jadhav (03:17:38) and Aasa T.P (03:18:58) finished second and third respectively.

Kerala High Court Judge, Justice Devan Ramachandran was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Loknath Behera, MD, KMRL; N. Ravi, DIG, Indian Coast Guard; cine actress Sania Iyappan, Federal Bank MD and CEO Shyam Srinivasan, CFO Venkatraman Venkateswaran, Executive Director Shalini Warrier, former Executive Director Ashuthosh Khajuria and official Medical Director of the marathon and Head of the Emergency Medicine department, Aster Medcity Kochi Dr. Johnson K. Varghese distributed the prizes to the winners.
The marathon was flagged off at 4 AM at the Maharajas College Ground here by M.V.S. Murthy, Chief Marketing Office, Federal Bank, Olympians O.P. Jaisha and T. Gopi. "We are proud to have been a part of the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon, which promotes a healthy and active lifestyle among individuals. As a Bank, we believe in supporting initiatives that bring about a positive impact in society, and this marathon is a perfect example of that. We congratulate all the participants for their remarkable effort and commitment towards fitness, and we look forward to continuing our support for such initiatives in the future," said M.V.S. Murthy.
Over 6000 participants from 20 states ran in the four categories of the marathon held in association with Kerala Tourism department, Kerala Police, KMRL, GCDA, Infopark Kochi and SmartCity Kochi and in partnership with Aster Medcity Kochi, Golden Valley of NeST Group, NJUZE and Debongo of VKC Group.
