The jewellery brand launches a scrumptious oasis of gemstones in the heart of central Bengaluru
April 2023: Isharya, an Instagram favourite jewellery brand that blends modern techniques with heirloom details to create pieces of glamor, launches its first flagship store in Bengaluru on Lavelle Road. The store, designed by architect Tejal Mathur is a story of juxtapositions created to highlight the beauty of gemstones— earth’s geological wonders.
The store is designed in an interplay of clean lime plaster walls holding copper shelves under a ceiling of reflective mirror. Using principles of craft and light, the space heightens the drama of the gemstones that make up Isharya’s portfolio of collections. The store was designed by Tejal Mathur as a physical manifestation of Isharya’s values— fashion, luxury and understated bling. A terraced dune like structure forms a visual centerpiece; Finished in crushed stone, the installation glitters creating a visual reference of Isharya’s tag line— you were born to sparkle. From light fixtures that mimic rock clusters of jagged planes, to the calming serenity of limeplaster, the space embodies natures sense of drama in juxtapositions.
Speaking about the launch, Gauri Tandon Co-Founder of Isharya says, “This store was born of the same attention to detail and thought that goes into every Isharya piece of jewellery. It was exciting to collaborate with designer and friend, Tejal Mathur whose vision we trust deeply. It is special because it brings us full circle in our journey of crafting modern Indian jewellery.” Elements of the store explore these ideas metaphorically, like the evocative overhead lighting structure in the center of the room, inspired by lava rocks marking the geological genesis of gold. At another glimpse, a bespoke wallpaper depicting a local jewellery market with colonnades and arches, juxtaposing an otherwise contemporary space with the epitome of luxury - Indian craftsmanship.
The store houses Isharya’s bestselling collection— the Modern Maharani series including the fifth and latest one. The store also holds the more youthful, colour-centric pieces from Bright Young Things and Poppin’. There is something for every kind of jewellery lover with 18-karat gold and signature Isharya coloured plating, hand-cut mirrors, resins, enamel, semi-precious stones spread across this eclectic space.
