Bengaluru, 8th March 2023: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Apollo Cradle & Children’s Hospital, Koramangala organised a 5-km Walkathon in Bangalore on 8th March 2023 to highlight the need for women of all generations to take care of their health & well-being. Being a women and children's hospital, Apollo Cradle & Children's Hospital is a forerunner in encouraging a stronger ecosystem for women in which they can prosper, grow and handle any challenge with utmost finesse.
The Walkathon was flagged off at 6:30 am from Apollo Cradle & Children's Hospital, Koramangala by Sri. Ramalinga Reddy, MLA, Former Home Minister, and Mr. Chandrapa, Corporate, Counselor Head along with the presence of Prof. Jahnvi, Jyothi Nivas College, Autonomous, Bangalore, Dr. Vijaya Manohar Senior Consultant Obstetrician, and Gynecologist, Dr. Nagarathna Senior Consultant, Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Soumya, Senior Aesthetician, Mr. Ganesh, Business Head & Mr. Kushagra Vashishth, Zonal Business head, Apollo Cradle & Children’s Hospital, Koramangala.
With over 580 participants, the walk inspired energy in a number of bystanders helping the cause of spreading awareness about equal opportunities for women.
Speaking on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Dr. Vijaya Manohar Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist said “Today, we walked towards a more equitable future, and I’d like to ask everyone to remember that every step we take towards gender equality is a step towards a healthier, happier, and more prosperous society for all.
