Two-day ‘Judges Clinic’ held in Jaipur
Jaipur, 3 March. Recently, a two-day ‘Judges Clinic’ and seminar was organized by the Indigenous Society of India at the Rajasthan Polo Club in Jaipur. The clinic was conducted by international judge, Zara Pawley from the UK. During the programme, Zara Pawley explained the participants about the specific qualities of horses that need to be evaluated during judging and on what basis. IHSI Vice President, Administration, Mr. Raghuvendra Singh Dundlod; IHSI Overseas Executive Director, Francesca Kelly; and IHSI Vice President, Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gulvinder Chaudhary were present on the occasion.
Mr. Raghuvendra Singh Dundlod said that the objective of this event was to ensure strict adherence to the rules of judging during horse shows, understand the point system clearly, and learn what judges need to do with horses. This will enable judges to judge shows without any pressure or influence during shows and to do so with complete transparency. He also mentioned that an app has been launched for judging horse shows, which will make the judging process paperless, simple, and transparent.
Mr. Dundlod continued that Marwari horses have not only established their identity in India but also in foreign countries. The Indigenous Horse Society of India's effort is to provide maximum support to Marwari horses. In this regard, they were going to organize a Marwari horse show in Jaipur, but due to the spread of the disease glanders among the horses, they had to postpone the show for the time being.
