Jaipur, 1 March: The National Science Day themed upon ‘Global Science For Global Well Being’ to commemorate the Nobel Prize winning discovery ‘Raman Effect’ by Sir C V Raman, was celebrated at Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ). The program began with lighting of the lamp. In the introduction of the program Prof. Lalita Ledwani, Dean, Faculty of Science, welcomed all the guests and attendees. She highlighted various achievements of faculty of science to the participants. Dr Thammaiah CS, Pro-President motivated the younger minds to join the field of science. He gave example of COVID 19 how science and scientists helped everyone.
The chief guest of the function Prof. S.J.S. Flora, Ex-Director, NIPER, Raebareli, said to the students to choose science only if you are passionate about it. Discipline, dedication and devotion are the basics of success in science.
To celebrate this great event in more jovial way, various activities like poster making, Quiz, Nukkad Natak and short movie making competition etc. were also conducted for students of different institutes and winners were felicitated. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sandeep Kumar Srivastava, convener of National Science Day program. Heads of various departments Prof. Kalpana Sharma (Mathematics), Prof. Ashima Bagaria (Physics), Prof. Rahul Srivastava (Chemistry) and Prof. Devershi Pallavi Bhat (Comuter Application) were also present during the event.
