Kochi: As the 5th edition of the Kochi Muziris Biennale crosses the halfway mark, over 5.15 lakh people have visited the international contemporary art exhibition until February 22. The trend gives a clear indication that this edition will set a new record in terms of people's participation. The previous edition of the Biennale had six lakh visitors.
People from all walks of life, including lower primary students to students from professional colleges across the country, professionals belonging to various fields, officers, people representatives including ministers and leaders, legal experts, academicians, people of renown from the field of arts and cinema, sports persons, IT experts and above all art enthusiasts from all over the world are making the 5th edition of Biennale more active and vibrant than ever before.
Notably, the numbers have not gone down despite it being exam time. The meetings, talks, dialogues, discussions, and art programs, including workshops, movie screenings, and music shows, that are being held in various Biennale venues, are pulling huge crowds. The Biennale, which started on December 23, is set to conclude on April 10. Entry is from 10 am to 7 pm. The charge for a normal ticket is Rs 150, for senior citizens, it is Rs 100, and for students, it is Rs 50.
