Kochi: The Biennale artworks have always been inspirational, says director Lal Jose. Never have missed any Kochi Muziris Biennale since the first one. Inspirations are there in films that did after visiting the first Biennale. It also resulted in getting tagged as 'Biennale director' after that. The final shot of the movie 'Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum' was the result of the obsession with an installation that was part of the Biennale.
Biennale offers that much encouragement. It helps to attain many marvellous visual creations. The speciality of Biennale is that it offers lots of visually expressive art works. Even if the common people may not be able to comprehend its meaning completely, they still interpret in their own ways. Artworks that require more attention and deep understanding are part of this Biennale. The significance needs to be explained and understood.
The Biennale, which includes startling videos on social issues including climate change, must be visited by everyone. The influence of COVID is visible in artistic creations worldwide. That is seen here at the Biennale too. Society has changed from being superficial to approaching things internally, opined Lal Jose after visiting the Biennale at Fort Kochi Aspinwall House.
