Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 04: Noting that COVID-19 has accelerated technology adoption in various fields across the globe, IBS Software founder and Executive Chairman Shri VK Mathews today said the future of companies, including those in the publishing sector, hinges on how much technology they can be able to deploy to reach out to their consumers.
“Every company, including those in publishing, travel and pharmaceutical sectors, is now trying to become technology firms as they have realized that technology is inevitable for their survival,” Shri Mathews said.
The IBS Chief was speaking at a session on “Future of Kerala: Political and Economic Imperatives” at the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL 2023) here.
Stressing the need to change the present scenarios in Kerala, Shri Mathews said the state is becoming fully digitised, but it fails to retain young and bright minds who can immensely contribute to its progress.
Currently, a good number of youngsters are leaving abroad to pursue their higher education and the exodus will impact the economy and social balance of the state, he noted.
Shri Mathews made a strong case for a change in the political model of Kerala as economic prospects have linkages to social prospects.
The four-day MBIFL 2023, which began on Thursday, features an impressive line-up of Nobel and Booker Prize winners, Jnanpith awardees, and eminent names in various creative fields.
