The newly inaugurated block, sprawling nearly 4.6 lakh sq. ft. area in 10 floors is set up at a cost of Rs 300 crore
Thiruvananthapuram, January 24, 2023: Adding to the latest developments in medical care, KIMSHEALTH dedicated the East block with most modern facilities to the nation. V. Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs of India, inaugurated the newly commissioned East block. While speaking at the inauguration, the minister reiterated KIMSHEALTH’s important contributions in the state's healthcare infrastructure and he urged for the need for collective effort in healthcare regardless of public and the private sector.
Consisting of advanced amenities, the new block houses ultramodern operation theatres, 75 bed ICU with central monitoring facility, bi-plane cath labs,wide bore CT scanner, modern ultrasound equipment, spacious birthing suites, labour and delivery rooms, visa medicals, comprehensive burns unit, transplant ICU, pharmacy, cafeteria, and 170 fully air-conditioned rooms.
“KIMSHEALTH has been an integral part of the healthcare sector of Kerala and the whole KIMSHEALTH family is happy on this proud journey,” said Dr. M.I. Sahadulla, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMSHEALTH during the presidential address. He also said that KIMSHEALTH is planning to expand its super-speciality treatment services to the rural areas as well and underlined the KIMSHEALTH’s vision of community service.
The newly inaugurated block will be the centre for all transplant programmes including liver, kidney and pancreas. It comprises a dedicated centre for infertility treatment and high risk delivery, most modern 30 bedded neonatal ICU, neuro interventional radiology, specialised dermatology, cosmetology and plastic surgery centre, international patient relations services, premium waiting lounges and a wellness centre with fast-track consultation. With this expansion, KIMSHEALTH becomes the first hospital in Kerala to be recognized with IGBC LEED Platinum certification; also the first hospital in South India to house an Engineering Command Centre.
Veena George, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare delivered the keynote address and Dr. Shashi Tharoor MP, Ramesh Chennithala MLA, Kadakampally Surendran MLA, KIMSHEALTH Vice Chairman and Director of Medical Services, Dr. G. Vijayaraghavan spoke during the function. KIMSHEALTH Executive Director, EM Najeeb welcomed the dias and KIMSHEALTH Group CEO, Dr. Sheriff Sahadulla delivered the vote of thanks.
