Bangalore: Orange Ball, a new marigold hybrid from East-West Seed India is making a significant impact with firm flowers and deep orange color, which is enhancing returns on investment to Karnataka farmers. Good disease tolerance and easy picking qualities are helping smallholder farmers in Karnataka catch the market with repeat pickings in these times of the pandemic.
East-West Seed India has an array of high-yielding, attractive marigold hybrids such as Arrow Gold, Apsara Yellow, Bengal Orange, and Bengal Yellow.
Bright, bold, and cheerful, marigolds are among the most commonly grown and beloved ornamental bedding plants in the world. Their vibrant colors, resilient nature, make them popular in various corners of the world and have become a part of many cultures.
In India, marigolds are always in demand, and central to many cultural and religious ceremonies. They also have culinary, industrial, and medicinal uses.
