Jaipur, 18 December: The city of Jaipur, which is known worldwide as the Pink City, has also been known as the Gem City for decades. This City of Gems has a legacy of cutting and polishing gems which can now be seen in the manufacturing of more than 200 gems. In the race of time, Jaipur, in terms of gems has increasingly become a major hub for exquisite jewellery.
JJS Chairman, Vimal Chand Surana informed that Jaipur Jewelery Show was conceptualized in the year 2003, from a humble beginning of 67 booths at Entertainment Paradise (EP), to make Jaipur a brand in the gems and jewelery trade.
Now, the Jaipur Jewelery Show in its 20th year is all set to be held at JECC in Jaipur from 23-26 December. It will be the most comprehensive, dazzling, and unique ever. JJS Secretary, Rajeev Jain said that during the last two decades of the event , it was observed that apart from marketing exquisite jewelery and brilliant gems, the exhibition also showcased the art of stone-making, gem-cutting, the priceless heritage of Jaipur jewellery, and the skill of the artisans.
With this objective, JJS took a step by launching the Jaipur Jewelery Design Festival Show (JJDF) in 2017, making the show multidimensional. The vision was to promote the art and design of Gems & Designs as well as to provide a two-way platform to the artisans and budding designers of jewelery designing institutes.
JJDF, which is part of the Jaipur Jewelery Show, now in its 5th year will be spread over an area of approximately 576 sqm in Hall 2, showcasing multi-faceted activities including artisans at work, artefacts, seminars and panel discussions at one place.
JJS spokesperson, Ajay Kala said that giving a festive look to JJDF, a library and cafeteria with traditional display of jewelery etc. will be set up which will reflect the story of Gems and Jewelery industry to the visitors. This year, JJDF will provide a platform to the students of 6 to 7 premier designing institutes of the city where some budding designers will be able to showcase their creations.
During JJDF 2021, top women entrepreneurs were felicitated by Princess Diya Kumari. This year also, the organizing committee of JJS will felicitate women designers and entrepreneurs who are nationally branded for their skill, talent and remarkable achievements in a dignified ceremony on 23rd December. The approval of the Union Minister has also come for this felicitation ceremony.
This year, JJDF will be more grand and will showcase the historical traditions of Jaipur Gems & Jewellery and contemporary trade while adopting international technology to portray how the fashion industry is making an impact for the consumer. The customer will be informed about the savings and the general curiosity of jewelery to be worn with the dresses.
