Thiruvananthapuram, November 23, 2022: KIMSHEALTH, Trivandrum is pleased to announce the joining of Dr. Santhosh Joseph, a pioneer in the field of radiology and Imaging in Kerala as its Senior Consultant and Clinical lead in Neuro Interventional Radiology. With an experience spanning over 35 years, he is one of the first doctors in Kerala to learn the cross-sectional imaging of the brain and the body with a CT scanner.
Dr. Santhosh is one of the founding members of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR), and he played a prominent role in introducing interventional radiology, neurovascular, and non-vascular intervention in the country. He is also adept in the fields of Interventional Neuroradiology, Interventional Vascular Radiology, Development and Application of Medical Sciences, Imaging Sciences and Physical Principles.

He also added that Interventional Neuro-radiology procedures minimise hospital stay and complex surgical procedures can also be avoided. It avoids blood transfusion leaving the patients with no scars. The current Biplane DSA lab at KIMSHEALTH is one of its kind in the country and is capable of performing any neuroradiology procedure as in Western countries.
In addition to the complex neurovascular interventions he has special expertise in dealing haemorrhage stroke with treatment of aneurysms with coiling, stent/Balloon Assisted coiling and variety of techniques related to balloon & stents. He is one India’s most experienced Interventional Radiologists in the use of Flow Diverters and Intra saccular Flow Diversion. Apart from this, other vascular lesions both angioplasty and vascular embolisation for peripheral vascular diseases, embolisation of fibroid, prostatic and aortic aneurysms management are routinely done by him. Dr. Santhosh Joseph is also a proponent of ischemic stroke therapy developing treatment.
Dr. Santhosh has received several accolades and recognitions including member of several professional bodies such as Life member of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), Indian Medical Association Founder member, Treasurer of Indian Society of Vascular Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) & Indian Society of Neuroradiology (ISNR). Founder member and Founder President of Society of Therapeutic NeuroIntervention (STNI). He is a recipient of ISVIR & ISNR Oration in 2016 & 2017 respectively. He has also presented and published more than 100 scientific papers in international & national levels.
