Jaipur, 25 November: The nod of the Chief Minister and State Cabinet over the Rajasthan Rural Tourism Scheme 2022 will go a long way in benefitting the farmers as well as attracting investment in the rural sector of the State. Not only will this give a fillip to the existing rural economy but will also evolve it into the tourism economy. Through this policy, many new avenues of tourism -- rural tourism, agriculture tourism, eco tourism as well as health tourism, among others – will open up in the state. This was stated by the President of Federation of Hospitality and Tourism in Rajasthan, Mr. Apurv Kumar.
Mr. Kumar further said that rural Tourism will not only be an added attraction for the foreign as well as domestic tourists but it will also generate employment in the rural areas. By way of establishment of guest houses in rural areas, agricultural tourism units, caravan parks etc, the policy will be hugely beneficial for the tourism stakeholders in rural areas.
The Industry status for Tourism, this is yet another milestone achievement for the State’s tourism. It will help the industry recuperate especially after the distress of the Covid-19 pandemic, added the FHTR President.
It is to be noted that under the Rajasthan Rural Tourism Policy, which got a go ahead last evening, rural tourism units will be provided a minimum 1000 sqm and a maximum two hectares of agricultural land on 15 feet wide roads. These units will not require land conversion and building plan approval. Many other relaxations too have been given, including 100% exemption in stamp duty.
