Bengaluru, November 17, 2022: On the occasion of World Prematurity Day, People Tree Meenakshi Hospital celebrated NICU Alumni Day in grand style. Around 100 babies who graduated from this NICU and their parents were present at the celebration.

More than 10,000 healthy babies have gone home from this NICU. People Tree Meenakshi Hospital at 50 Feet Road, Hanumanthanagar is the 4th NICU of the city which started in 1999. Over 100 neonatology registrars and fellows have graduated from this NICU over the past 24 years.
More than 15% of the babies weigh less than 1000 grams with a survival rate of 90% which is at par with the best international standards!!The hospital has a neonatal recovery ambulance service and a team of neonatal surgeons and anaesthetists.

The famous neonatologist Dr. Ranjan Pagavar who spoke about this hospital “Babies whose lives were saved here are now doing engineering and other courses. And the youth are growing up as the future generation. The story of the survival of a 650 gm baby girl and a 1000 gm baby girl who underwent major abdominal surgery and was successfully discharged from People Tree Meenakshi Hospital is a matter of pride,” he said.
