IKP Knowledge Park signed 4 MoU’s with two agriculture companies and two with academic institutions at IKMC2022
Hyderabad: IKP Knowledge Park (IKP) celebrated its 22-year journey through its 16th flagship International Knowledge Millennium Conference, IKMC2022 at HICC on October 29 & 30, 2022.
IKMC2022 - Sculpting the NEXT: Enabling a Future-ready India deliberated on how ecosystem enablers like IKP can help innovators and industry solve problems of tomorrow impacting the health of humans and that of the planet through application of emerging technologies, and help India become future-ready.
The conference began with the Inaugural Ceremony presided by Dr. R A Mashelkar, Chairman, New Energy Council of Reliance Industries and former DG, CSIR. Prof A J te Velthuis from Princeton University, USA and Prof. Uday Desai, Founding Director and Prof. Emeritus, IIT Hyderabad were the Keynote Speakers focused on ‘Emerging Technologies Shaping the Future’.
It was a moment of great honour and pride for IKP when the founders of K K Orchids Pvt. Ltd, Manipur, Dr Rajkumar Kishor and Ms. Thoudam Kebisana announced that their next hybrid orchid has been named and registered as "Phalaenopsis IKP Knowledge Park" after IKP where they were incubated as a start-up.
The second day of IKMC 2022 focused on Digital Health and Agri Tech along with equipping start-ups with tools to help them advance in their journey. The day began with a recap of the exciting first day, followed by an inspiring talk on the Regulatory Systems for Emerging Technologies by Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice Chancellor JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (former Drug Controller General of India). This was followed by in-depth discussions on Digital Healthcare for a Future Ready India. The Agri opportunities discussions looked at Agritech and adoption of new technology to aid agriculture. The role of big companies in framing the problem for start-ups to come up with unique solutions were discussed. Discussions led by Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Ayog, Madhav Joshi, India Health Fund and Dr. Manish Diwan, BIRAC explored Financing Structures for Wider Impact. A Roundtable with heads of academic institutions explored the potential of translational research and technology commercialisation.
The conference ended with the signing of 4 Memorandum of Understanding, with two agriculture companies and two with academic institutions. MoUs were signed between IKP Knowledge Park and Samunnati Agro Solutions Private Limited (represented by Mr. Anil Kumar) and Absolute – A Precision Agriculture Tech company (represented by Dr. Shivam Sharma) to increase collaboration and improving market access for Agri start-ups. Two additional Memorandum of Understanding were signed with ADAMAS University, Kolkata (represented by Dr. Saptarishi Chatterji) and VIT – Andhra Pradesh (represented by the Vice Chancellor, Dr S V Kota Reddy, for Capacity building, Intellectual Property, Technology transfer and commercialization of technologies.
The conference ended on a high note with awards to 15 start-ups for their exhibits from the Start-up Showcase at IKMC2022 followed by the address of the Guest of Honour, Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries and IT, Govt of Telangana. Mr. Jayesh Ranjan highlighted the innovation ecosystem set up the Government and the adoption of new technologies in the area of Digital health. Mr. HK Mittal, Chairman, Startup India Seed Fund delivered the Valedictory Address. He congratulated IKP Knowledge Park for a successful IKMC 2022 and motivated start-ups to create thriving innovation ecosystems that will enable India to be a global leader in innovation.
Around 600 delegates and guests are participating in IKMC2022 from across India spanning large companies, start-ups and innovators, incubator managers, experts, investors, government officials and policy makers.
A Startup Product Exhibition where 80 selected startups in healthtech, medtech, biopharma, industrial biotech, agritech and AI & ML from across India are presenting their technologies. An eminent panel of jury will select the most promising solutions in different categories for cash award and mentorship.
