Jaipur, 14 October: The special children of Jaipur's active NGO 'Rays' - Asha Ki Ek Kiran participated in the 18th All India Drama and Dance Competition 'Rangodaya-2022' organized in Agra in association with prestigious theatrical organization Tamhankar Theatre Academy in Jaipur. In this, the children won 12 National Awards by staging short plays and street plays. The program was organised on the occasion of the 50th golden year of Sanskar Bharati Natya Kendra of Agra. In this theatrical competition, only 15 selected theatrical groups from across the country were given entry.
Director of the NGO, Captain Gurinder Virk said: "I feel very proud of this achievement of the children. They have brought laurels to 'Rays' at the national level by winning 12 awards. I am glad that the hard work put in by them and their coaches have paid off. We at the Rays Sanstha are committed towards the holistic development of special children. I am sure this achievement has encouraged the children and boosted their self-confidence to do better in the future. He further informed that during the summer vacation, a theatre workshop was organized by Tamhankar Theatre Academy for the special children of Rays. Children of the age group of 4 years to 16 years participated with enthusiasm and learned the nuances of theatre”.
In this drama and dance competition, ‘Rangodaya-2022’, the play 'Dil Ki Dukaan' was presented by the children of Rays. It received the first position across the country. The street play 'Tab Ramenge Devta' based on woman empowerment received second place. Apart from this, other awards like Best Director (First) was won by Arshiya Parveen; Best Director (Second) was won for 'Tab Ramenge Devta', Best Script (First) by Hemchandra Tamhankar’s street play, 'Tab Ramenge Devta'. Apart from this, Best Actress (First) was won by Priyanka Pareek, Mamta Panwar bagged the Character Artist (1st) award, Krish Sharma won the Comic Actor (1st), and Babita Gurjar won the Campfire Queen and Best Actress Street Play (Second). Additionally, Krish Sharma received the National Award 2022 for Child Artist of Theatre and Priyanka Pareek received the Young Theatre Actress National Award 2022.
