Thiruvananthapuram: 5 August 2022: Honourable MLA of Vattiyoorkavu, Shri V K Prasanth MLA inaugurated 4 service projects during the installation ceremony of the new office bearers of Rotary Club of Technopark, held at Hotel Hycinth, Trivandrum. The new team headed by President Rtn. Manu Madhavan, Secretary Rtn. Rony Sebastian and Treasurer Rtn. Mathew Cherian took charge and will continue for the period Jul-2022 till Jun-2023.
The District Project for Rotary International District 3211 titled ‘Amritam’ focuses on the theme ‘Healthy and Happy Children’ and the project aims to conduct medical camps in schools all over the state to detect and rectify problems related to eyesight, hearing , dental health and providing counselling. The project focuses to identify post ‘study from home’ conditions among students and also aims to provide treatment aid for children detected with such ailments during the medical camps. The MoU between MRS Katella School and Rotary Club of Technopark was handed over by the President Rtn. Manu Madhavan to the School’s HM, Shri Satheesh in the presence of Shri V K Prasanth MLA.
The district focus project ‘Parinayam’ aims to provide marriage support for differently abled women in the state and the project ‘Valsalyam’ aims to provide educational assistance for under privileged students who aspire for Civil Services or Medical admissions.
Contributions were also given to the MLA’s special project to setup a library in memory of poet Smt Sugatha Kumari. Rotary International District 3211 Governor Rtn. K. Babumon, was the Chief Guest for the ceremony.
During the presidential address, Rtn. Manu Madhavan stressed on the potential areas the club would be focussing the Service Projects. As part of the District Project Amritam, at least 2000 – 3000 school children will be included for medical camps.
