Taking the existing collection of performance shoes a notch higher, ASICS launches its newest upgrades of the Metaspeed™ series Metaspeed Sky+ and Metaspeed Edge+ for fast-performance running.
The Stride Style Metaspeed Sky+ has 4% more FF BLASTds09 TURBO along with the carbon placements and the mild toe spring curve, which are higher than the 1st generation due to the fact that stride style runners have a stronger downward push during toe-off. Therefore, this higher plate placement allows them to compress more volume of foam to gain a higher bounce.
The Cadence Style Metaspeed Edge+ has 16% more FF BLASTTM TURBO along with carbon plates + the sharp toe spring curve are placed lower than the 1st generation, as cadence style runners have to maintain the temp and therefore this lower plate placement allows them to achieve easier roll-forward motion.
Having developed the Metaspeed Sky+ and Metaspeed Edge+ shoes, ASICS worked with their elite athletes to test the benefits of the product tweaks for stride and cadence runners respectively.
Compared to a traditional ASICS racing model, Metaspeed Sky+ and Edge+ increased the running economy by more than 2%*
