Kolkata, 12th July, 2022: Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is a premier S&T organization under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) engaged in promoting IT/ITES Industry, innovation, R&D, start-ups, product/IP creation in the field of emerging technologies like IoT, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision, Robotics, Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Augmented & Virtual Reality, Animation & Visual effect, Data Science & Analytics for various domains like Gaming, FinTech, Agritech, MedTech, Autonomous Connected Electric & Shared (ACES) Mobility, ESDM, Cyber Security, Industry 4.0, Drone, Efficiency Augmentation, etc.
STPI is establishing Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs)/Technology incubators for building India’s leadership in the above mentioned technology areas across the country in a collaborative manner.
Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) is STPI’s comprehensive incubation scheme which has a vision to drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation so as to make India a global player in development, production and supply of Innovative, Efficient and Secure Software Products, thus facilitating the growth across the entire spectrum of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector as envisioned in the National Policy on Software Products (NPSP) – 2019.
NextGen Start-up Challenge Contest - Challenge Hunt Under NGIS for Advanced Uninhibited Technology Intervention (CHUNAUTI) is a series of online Challenges under NGIS. STPI has been strengthening the start-up ecosystem, through policies, initiatives, and creation of a 360-degree ecosystem. In the current digital era where technology adoption has been high in the urban, educated and high to mid-income group population, the rural, less formally educated and low-income group population is still in the digital inaccessibility group. For social empowerment around Tier II and III cities therefore the need is for hyper-localized digital products/solution. Accordingly, to boost the localized innovations from Tier II & III cities, through NGIS, the CHUNAUTI Contest of STPI is looking to identify and support promising start-ups working towards Digital India enabling Social Empowerment with focus on sectors like Agriculture, Education, Healthcare & Wellness, Banking & Finance, E-commerce, and Environment etc. The selected start-ups would be given physical infrastructure, funding assistance, access to networks, connects, learning and resources that are needed to build a scalable, profitable and global business.
Who can apply?
The eligibility criteria for a start-up to apply in the CHUNAUTI CONTEST shall be as follows:
· The challenge invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups# who are working in domains related to software product development.
· Start-ups registered with Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Start-Up India programme are encouraged to participate.
· Individual Academicians, Researchers, Educators, Entrepreneurs, partnership firms, limited liability partnerships (LLPs) may also participate, however, if they are selected then they will have to register as private limited companies in a stipulated time (preferably within 3 months).
At least 51% shareholding will be with citizens or persons of Indian origin. The applicant’s entity should not be a subsidiary company of any foreign corporation.
