Experience the magic of Türkiye at Hyatt Place Hyderabad!

Authentic Turkish delicacies specially curated by the culinary expert Chef Eyüp Kemal Sevinç and Head Chef of Hyatt Place Hyderabad, Sammya Majumder.

 

Hyderabad, June 2022: Hyatt Place Hyderabad located in Banjara Hills is all set to organize an authentic Turkish food festival - Flavours of Türkiye starting from 23rd June’22 to 3rd July’22. Turkish cuisine can be largely described as a fusion and refinement of Mediterranean, Baklan, Middle Eastern, Armenian and Georgian cuisines. The interest of this event is to showcase the rich culture of Türkiye and their diverse food flavours to the audience of Hyderabad.

 

This festival in collaboration with Consulate General of Republic of Türkiye, Turkish Airlines and MAK projects. The reason behind this association is having a wide audience from Hyderabad visiting Istanbul and other places of Turkey and embracing their food and culture. So, we truly believe that the people of Hyderabad would like to explore the authentic flavours of Türkiye and cherish them.

 

In collaboration with Turkish Consulate, we are getting a Chef on-board – Chef Eyüp Kemal who is visiting them all the way from Türkiye to curate this exclusive festive menu. He has assured to maintain the authenticity by sourcing all the major ingredients from his hometown.

 

The grand launch is taking place on 22nd June’22 where Consulate Generals, bureaucrats, socialites, media and influencers would be joining in for a gala dinner.

 

To add up to this whole experience, they have a huge giveaway for free stays at Türkiye! Dine with them and participate in this lucky draw contest and get a chance to visit this travel destination.

 

What’s more? They also have a special cooking workshop by Chef Eyüp Kemal Sevinç with 2hrs of exclusive cooking class followed by a special lunch. Actress Mehreen Pirzada will also be visiting the property to grace the occasion.

 

This is truly a feast for all food enthusiasts!

 

Mr Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, IT & Industries, Govt. of Telangana; speaking about the festival said, a Turkish food festival, Flavours of Türkiye, is being hosted in Hyderabad at Hyatt Place Hyderabad located in Banjara Hills. A reputed chef of Turkish food has come specifically to Hyderabad to prepare delicious Turkish food here. Hyderabad has a traditional relationship with Turkey, especially during the Nizam’s time several of the brides of Nizams, the princesses hailed from Turkey. Hyderabad cuisine and Turkey cuisine have several similarities. I had vegetarian food, it was different from our vegetarian food, but was delicious. This festival was the initiative of the Turkish consulate, similarly Hyderabad has several consulates of other countries, they also should take initiative and host food festivals of their countries in Hyderabad, that also raises awareness and helps in attracting tourists to their countries. Several people in the audience here learnt about Turkey at this festival and there is great scope for them to visit Turkey as tourists.  

 

Mr AK Khan, Advisor to the Telangana State on minority affairs; said, we in Hyderabad have an emotional attachment with Turkey, in fact several people here used to put on Turkish attire. There is a strong religious connect of the people in both Andhra and Telangana with Turkey. The cuisine has similarities with ours. This festival provides an opportunity for citizens of Hyderabad to explore the cuisine of Turkey and relish it, besides it being an opportunity to connect. I liked both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food served here, the revelation for me was the vegetarian food tasting very good.   

 

Chef Eyüp Kemal said, I love Hyderabad cuisine, Hyderabadi Biryani is very famous, I tasted it and really loved it. During the festival we will serve different types of salads, soups, deserts, different main courses, Turkish Coffee, Turkish Tea. Some of the signature dishes we will be serving are Ezogelin Çorbasi (Spicy Red Lentil Soup); Köpoğlu (Kyopolou – Roasted Eggplant & Pepper Dip); Zeytinyağli Enginar (Artichokes Braised in Olive Oil); Perde Pilavi (Pastry Encrusted Pilaf with Chicken, Nuts and Raisins) and Aşure (Wheat Berry Pudding With Dried Fruits And Nuts). I am sure people of Hyderabad will love all this.

 

Mr Animesh Barat, General Manager, Hyatt Place Hyderabad; said, a Turkish food festival, Flavours of Türkiye, is being hosted at Hyatt Place Hyderabad, Banjara Hills. Excited about it being held for the next 10 days, we have a Chef from Istanbul, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Turkey and Turkish Airlines. During the next ten days guests will taste some fabulous cuisine. We also have a lucky draw, where we will host lucky draw stay at Park Hyatt and Grand Hyatt in Istanbul, in addition to free tickets to Istanbul sponsored by the Turkish Airlines. Turkish food is quite close to my heart, I love the food for its simplicity, authenticity and is extremely popular amongst the people in our country, it’s at par to any world cuisine. We wanted to bring it here, specially curated by a chef who is a master chef himself in Istanbul. Dinner will be charged at Rs 1500/- per person plus taxes, which will be a buffet, the buffet will include Turkish delights, including live Turkish ice cream, shawarma and lot of other stuff.

 

Mr Sammya Majumder, Head Chef, Hyatt Place Hyderabad; said, the Chef from Turkey is a stalwart in the food industry, have been interacting with him to understand the recipes and their food habits. It’s a great opportunity for me and my team to learn a lot of new things about their cuisine.
