Jaipur, 17 June: As part of the closing ceremony of 'Junior Summer Camp' organized at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, an exhibition of paintings and artworks made by the children of the watercolour, caricature and calligraphy workshops is being displayed. Around 250 paintings and artworks are being exhibited in this exhibition which will be held till 20 June in the Chaturdik Art Gallery of JKK. The exhibition is open for public viewing from 11 am to 7 pm. It is to be recalled that JKK organized the ‘Junior Summer Camp’ from 16 May to 15 June, as a part of which training in music, dance, theatre and painting arts was provided to children between the ages of 8 to 18 years.
During the ‘Junior Summer Camp’, the children were taught the nuances of calligraphy by senior calligraphy artistes, Harishankar Balothia and Rashmi Taparia in a calligraphy workshop. Similarly, well-known cartoonist, Sudhir Goswami trained the children in freehand cartooning and caricature. Instructors, Himmat Gayari and Subhash Mawar taught the children the tricks of watercolour painting during the summer camp.
