The World Economic Forum in alignment with The Young Global Leaders Community unveils a new class of 2022.
Mumbai, 26th April, 2022: In association with the World Economic Forum’s Mission, The Young Global Leaders Community serves as a catalyst for a vibrant community of extraordinary people with the wish and courage to make a difference in the world, for the better. In the new class for 2022, 109 people under the age of 40 have been listed by the World Economic Forum as Young Global Leaders. Among these, Vineeta Singh, Co-founder & CEO, SUGAR Cosmetics, has also been named along with 8 other South Asians who have been recognized to be exceptional in their respective fields. Other past notable members include Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister, New Zealand, Sanna Marin, Prime Minister, Finland, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, President, Costa Rica, and Rhea Mazumdar Singhal, Entrepreneur among others. This year’s names include Manasi Joshi, Innov8 Coworking founder Ritesh Malik, BharatPe CEO Suhail Sameer, and Global Himalayan Expedition CEO Jaideep Bansal among others.
According to the WEF, previous members of the list have gone on to become Nobel Laureates, leaders of state, CEOs of Fortune 500 firms, and Grammy Award winners. Some of WEF’S notable initiatives are to restore 21 million hectares of deforested and degraded land in India, establish 1st corporate movement for clean air to create healthy communities and have launched a $1 billion dollar gender fund to advance global equity and women’s leadership.
