Thiruvananthapuram: The first batch of Covid 19 vaccine to be distributed among Technopark employees and their family members will reach Thiruvanthapuram on Tuesday ( June 8). The vaccine is being procured by Technopark Employees Cooperative Hospital directly for Serum Institute of India, Pune. The first batch includes 25,000 does of Covishield that will reach Thiruvanthapuram by air. The hospital bought the vaccine from the Serum Institute at Rs 790 per dose. These will be distributed free of cost to Technopark employees and their family members. The cost will be borne by the respective companies.
The inoculation drive will begin on 10th June at the hospital, said Binu R, president, Technopark Employees Cooperative Hospital.
Technopark has set up extensive facilities for Covid treatment and prevention for the IT employees in the park. The Technopark Clubhouse was converted into a 35-bed Covid First Level Treatment Center. This was the first such Covid care centre in an IT park in the country.
