Dubai, UAE, 4 April 2022: To commemorate Ramadan, Zabeel House by Jumeirah, The Greens, will run a special edition of Project Art from April 4 to May 4. The monthly interactive initiative designed to provide Dubai’s burgeoning art community with a free space to exhibit their work will feature Egyptian artist Omar Aborayan (@omar_aborayan_calligraphy), who uses traditional calligraphy to explore the historic and cultural roots of Arabic culture.
The city’s coolest neighbourhood hangout will embody the spirit of the Holy Month by showcasing Arabic calligraphy from Aborayan’s excellent personal collection, which he says takes its inspiration from acclaimed artists such as Muthana Al Obaiby and Wissam Shawkat.
The eighth instalment of the series is in line with the theme of Ramadan and will feature a live calligraphy experience on April 12th and 19th at 9am in the hotel’s lobby. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artist, observe his technique, ask questions, and learn a little more about his work and journey. Aborayan’s original art will also be available for purchase throughout his residency.
